Sustainability Commitment

In Jan. 2019, I assisted the KFC Global communications team with the announcement of KFC's commitment to start using only reusable or recoverable plastic in over 22,000 restaurants in over 135 countries and territories. My contributions included internal communications to franchisees and an infographic made with Adobe Illustrator and InDesign to go along with the external announcement.

In working on the internal roll-out of this announcement, I sharpened my content writing skills and my media writing skills. Click on the image above to see the media coverage of this project.

Quarterly Fact Sheet

The KFC Global comms team acts as an advisor and unifier for 18 business units all around the world. In order to keep all of the units all on the same page, the global comms team provides these units with updated information on KFC's overall business goals. During my time with the team, I created a fact sheet--using InDesign and Illustrator--to be updated quarterly and given to the business units. This iteration of the fact sheet includes key messaging for KFC's global reach, corporate social responsibility, and the history of the Colonel, which aligns the businesses new brand standards and brand identity.

By creating this resource for the brand, I added to the overall strategic work to align the many business units behind one brand message. KFC has a very unique brand voice that embraces the history of Colonel Harland Sanders and his feisty attitude. This stylized fact-sheet supports that voice and brings KFC's emphasis on their new brand stance top of mind for business units.

Brand Journalism Site

At KFC, I assisted with the creation of the brand journalism site launch. My contributions consisted of writing exec bios and the brand values, curating content for the media library, and copyediting the entire site. Click on the image to view the completed site.

Compelling Presentations

As the resident graphic design expert, I trained with the Yum! Creative Services team in Louisville to improve my deck design capability. Once trained on Yum! and KFC best practices, I worked with executive stakeholders to craft compelling presentations for internal and external use. In this duty, I partnered with KFC Global CEO, Tony Lowings, numerous times to craft presentations from concept to final draft.
